Kirk D. Jensen and Clinton R. Rockwell Elected Partners
Washington, DC and Los Angeles, CA November 10, 2008—Buckley Kolar LLP announced today the election of two new partners, Kirk D. Jensen and Clinton R. Rockwell. Mr. Jensen will be resident in the firm’s Washington office, and Mr. Rockwell will be resident in the firm’s Los Angeles office.
“The promotion of Kirk Jensen and Clint Rockwell will further enhance our ability to offer top quality legal services to the financial services industry,” senior partner Jeremiah Buckley observed.
Kirk Jensen’s practice focuses on retail and commercial financial services. In particular, he represents a variety of financial services clients in litigation matters before federal and state courts, in administrative proceedings and in other enforcement matters and investigations brought by federal and state authorities. Mr. Jensen also counsels industry participants on compliance and risk-management issues and is a nationally recognized expert in consumer arbitration issues.
Before joining Buckley Kolar, Mr. Jensen was an attorney with Wilmer Cutler Pickering LLP in Washington, DC and with Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, PLLC in Charlotte, NC. Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Jensen served as a law clerk to the Honorable Deanell Reece Tacha, Chief Circuit Judge, United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Mr. Jensen received his J.D. from Duke University School of Law in 2000 (Order of the Coif; Research Editor, Duke Law Journal; J. Paul Coie Scholar) and his B.A. from Brigham Young University in 1995 (cum laude, nominated to Phi Kappa Phi).
Clint Rockwell heads the firm’s Los Angeles office and advises a variety of financial services clients, including banks, mortgage companies, secondary market loan purchasers, commercial lenders, and securities broker-dealers, regarding regulatory, licensing, compliance and transactional matters. Mr. Rockwell’s practice has a special focus on Federal Housing Administration (FHA) lending—including the formation of FHA lending platforms and representing clients before HUD in connection with approval, program administration, and enforcement issues. He also represents lenders in connection with reverse mortgage programs, and state-licensed lenders in state examinations and enforcement actions.
Mr. Rockwell is one of the original members of Buckley Kolar—joining the firm as an associate attorney at its formation in January 2004. Prior to joining Buckley Kolar, he was with Goodwin Procter LLP in Washington, DC. Mr. Rockwell received an LL.M. in “Cross-Border Banking and Finance,” studying at the University College London and The London School of Economics, 2003 (with merit), his J.D. from The George Washington University Law School, 2002 (with honors), and his B.A. from the University of California at San Diego, 1999 (cum laude).
