The New York Times reports that the U.S. Department of Justice will announce the creation of a new unit to focus exclusively on unfair lending practices, and reverse redlining in particular. The Times notes that "...the Obama administration is signaling that it intends to make the enforcing of fair lending laws a signature policy push in 2010."
