Environmental Enforcement & Litigation
BuckleySandler’s litigation team includes former prosecutors and environmental experts with decades of combined experience in environmental matters and with a track record of achieving notable results for clients. From unannounced site inspections and search warrants to criminal trial defense, our attorneys have successfully represented companies and individuals in federal and state enforcement investigations involving alleged violations of environmental laws, including the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, the Oil Pollution Act, and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act. Over the years, our litigators have developed a sophisticated technical understanding of the industries and equipment often at issue in environmental investigations, having represented clients in areas including oil and gas exploration and development, cruise lines and commercial vessels, electroplating, mining and mineral exploration, textiles, food production, and power generation facilities. We have the depth and breadth of experience to advise clients as they navigate through the difficult decisions around voluntary disclosures, environmental compliance programs, and burdensome subpoenas, and when dealing EPA’s Suspension and Debarment Division and the unique issues under the EPA’s Debarment Program.
Our environmental attorneys also have significant civil litigation experience in areas such as CERCLA cost recovery and contribution actions, Natural Resource Damages, and toxic torts.
