Biography
Tariq A. El-Baba is a regulatory attorney in the Washington, DC, office of BuckleySandler LLP. Mr. El-Baba assists clients in the financial services industry, primarily in litigation, regulatory and compliance matters. He also provides litigation support and assists with large-scale document reviews and productions related to complex litigation.
Prior to joining BuckleySandler, Mr. El-Baba served as associate general counsel to The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, defending agency decisions in Maryland appellate courts and litigating claims in state trial courts. He also provided legal advice to commissioners and agency staff; drafted legislation; and negotiated and drafted complex regulatory, public-private partnership, and land-exchange agreements.
Mr. El-Baba received his J.D. from the American University, Washington College of Law in 2000, where he was Associate Editor of the American University International Law Review. Prior to attending law school Mr. El-Baba practiced as an architect in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. He received his Bachelor of Architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology in 1988 (Honors).
